The day started with a couple gifts from our family!
A bracelet maker, American Girl doll craft and a coupon to stay up late!
Then she had a basketball game! She played great and made a basket!
Next it was on to her American Girl doll Birthday party! We told the girls (and to be boys) that they will get a party every other year! This year it is Shaelyn's turn! We talked through lots of ideas, but in the end she loved the idea of having an American Girl doll party! My girls spend hours and hours every week playing with their dolls! So, it was fun to plan!
After her game it was home to decorate and put together all the finishing touches!
The doll plate settings...
And the girls table...
10 sweet friends!
And all their dolls!
We played lots of games... but while organizing them I didn't get pictures...
But here is musical chairs...
Then we had cupcakes and did a super fun craft!
Fun friends!
Stennson enjoying a mini cupcake!
We LOVE this sweet girl!
Can't believe she is 8!
Her day ended with a SUPER fun date with her Aunt Em and Uncle Matt! They took her to sky jump, out for dinner and to Spoonlickers! I don't think she could have had a better 8th Birthday!
Dear Shaelyn,
Happy Birthday! What a fun day celebrating you! I loved sharing with you yesterday about the day you were born. All our thoughts, emotions and excitement! Watching the video of your first minutes, hours, days! We look young :)! You were the precious gift that changed and started it all! Your arrival and all the emotions that followed are so seared into my heart! The overwhelming love I felt for you in those moments has never wavered... only grown!
As an 8 year old it is fun to see the girl you are growing up to be! You have such a kind spirit. A servants heart. The deepest level of care for all those around you! It comes out in all areas of your life, home, school, sports. We couldn't ask for a better leader and example in our family! The way you care and love your sister and brothers blesses our family even more than you could know! Your daddy and I are especially thankful for your caring spirit on Saturday mornings :). It starts on Friday night when you remind me that you'll take care of everything in the morning so we can sleep in! Then you faithfully sneak in our room and quietly close our door. You entertain, make breakfast and put on a show for your sister and brothers :). Not letting them come in until 8! I'm not sure there are many older sisters who care so much about their little sister and brothers and it makes us SO proud of you!! We constantly hear about your caring spirit from school ... and although we keep reminding you that it has no place on the basketball court :)... we even see your gentle spirit there!
We are so excited for this year! To read more books with you, write more stories and dream new dreams! We are excited to learn more about Jesus and to keep seeking to learn about Him and love Him more with you each day! Never let your passion for Him waiver! We are so proud of you!
I think 8 is going to be great!!
I love you Shae!
Love, Mom
