Tarzan...

We have about 10 days left until this little one is due and they are definitely bittersweet days! Bitter...because I'm just a "little" uncomfortable and not sleeping :)...and sweet...because they are the last few days with just my two girls, so we are trying to pack them full of fun!! The girls are very excited about the baby arriving and getting to come up to the hospital to meet him or her. Since the beginning Shaelyn has been adamant that this little one is a boy and that she will have a little brother. She was actually the exact same way with Monreau, insisting the entire time that she would have a little sister. So, we'll see if her instincts are correct :). She has also decided on the perfect name for her little brother...Tarzan! For a while she like Franklin and Tarzan, but now she is pretty positive that we should go with the name Tarzan. She doesn't waiver when you ask her what name she would like and she really has no interest in any other name we present to her! So, the other day after her cousins knew that their baby brother would be named Jacob, she decided it was time to have a very serious conversation with me. We were on a walk, when she looked and me and very seriously said "Mommy, can we just decide that my brothers' name will be Tarzan. Can we just start saying that we REALLY know his name and tell people that it is Tarzan"...to which I responded, "Well, daddy and I have not really made a choice about names yet, and we aren't sure that it will be a little boy, so we're just going to have to wait and see"....her response, "But, mommy I DO know it's a boy and I just know that the perfect name is Tarzan." :) You have to love the innocence of a four year old...who knows the nickname Tarzan may just stick...but for all of you anxiously awaiting, I will let you know that Tarzan isn't going to make the cut!! Thanks for praying for us during these last days or weeks, we'll keep you updated!!

Weekend of nephews...

It's been a pretty exciting weekend in my family as we have welcomed two new babies! Jacob Wade Herweyer was born on Saturday 5/23 at 3:51pm and weighed in at 5 lbs 12oz and just 16 inches long! Darren Scott Loftin was born today, Sunday 5/24 at 5:10pm and weighed 8 lbs 8 oz and was 21 inches long! Both are healthy and doing great!! It's pretty fun to have two new nephews and the girls are very excited about their new cousins! We went up to the hospital on Saturday night to meet Jacob and the girls could hardly contain their excitement! Monreau was SO excited about her "baby jacob", she was pretty adorable! It made us very excited to watch them come meet their new brother or sister!! What a great weekend of blessings!!

New Site!

Since we are about to be a family of five I decided that we should move on and get a new site that no longer just carries "shaelyn's" name. It's amazing to me that four years of journal entries have all ready been completed, how does time pass so quickly? We have been SO blessed and I'm so grateful for the time I've spent journaling over the past few years, because it does go by so quickly and it's amazing all that you can forget.

I wanted to start this blog by sharing some amazing pictures that a friend of mine took for us last week. She is so talented and just moved back to the Grand Rapids area and is looking for new families to work with :). She is so sweet and so talented! (please check out her website www.cebulskiphotography.com) She captured some of our last moments as a family of four and is going to take some more pictures for me when this new little one arrives! I love taking pictures of my girls, but once in a while it's fun to let someone else capture their every day looks! Thank you Laura!
