Tarzan...
We have about 10 days left until this little one is due and they are definitely bittersweet days! Bitter...because I'm just a "little" uncomfortable and not sleeping :)...and sweet...because they are the last few days with just my two girls, so we are trying to pack them full of fun!! The girls are very excited about the baby arriving and getting to come up to the hospital to meet him or her. Since the beginning Shaelyn has been adamant that this little one is a boy and that she will have a little brother. She was actually the exact same way with Monreau, insisting the entire time that she would have a little sister. So, we'll see if her instincts are correct :). She has also decided on the perfect name for her little brother...Tarzan! For a while she like Franklin and Tarzan, but now she is pretty positive that we should go with the name Tarzan. She doesn't waiver when you ask her what name she would like and she really has no interest in any other name we present to her! So, the other day after her cousins knew that their baby brother would be named Jacob, she decided it was time to have a very serious conversation with me. We were on a walk, when she looked and me and very seriously said "Mommy, can we just decide that my brothers' name will be Tarzan. Can we just start saying that we REALLY know his name and tell people that it is Tarzan"...to which I responded, "Well, daddy and I have not really made a choice about names yet, and we aren't sure that it will be a little boy, so we're just going to have to wait and see"....her response, "But, mommy I DO know it's a boy and I just know that the perfect name is Tarzan." :) You have to love the innocence of a four year old...who knows the nickname Tarzan may just stick...but for all of you anxiously awaiting, I will let you know that Tarzan isn't going to make the cut!! Thanks for praying for us during these last days or weeks, we'll keep you updated!!

Hilarious--I love it. Can't wait to meet little Tarzan--I wonder who will have to break the news to Shaelyn!
ReplyDeleteSO funny! I can't wait to hear the "real" name you decide on! I'm thinking of you lots lately and I'm praying for you all!!
ReplyDeleteWould you consider Tarzan for a middle name? ; ) Praying for you!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Kristin when I was due for Justin. Even though we didn't know the sex, she was sure she was getting a little brother and his name was going to be Alvin.
ReplyDeleteI bought an Alvin doll and hid it in the closet so even though we didn't name the baby Alvin, she got her Alvin. Maybe you should look for a Tarzan doll :)
